Asmodee’s sales in the United States fell 9.4% in the first fiscal quarter, from April through June, while the company posted growth in its other markets. U.S. revenue declined from US$ 47.8 million in the same period last year to US$ 43.4 million.

The drop was driven by trading card games. According to CEO Thomas Koegler, around US$ 11.5 million in sales shifted from the April–June quarter to the July–September period because of a change to the release schedule for Star Wars: Unlimited expansions.

Without that change, U.S. sales would have returned to growth after a year of declines. The company expects that recovery to show up in the second fiscal quarter, covering the period from July through September.

Asmodee’s U.S. performance did not reflect its global results. Worldwide sales rose 20.9%, from US$ 401.4 million to US$ 485.4 million, while TCG sales increased 23.1%, from US$ 266 million to US$ 327.5 million.

Board games also contributed to international growth. The category grew 16%, from US$ 101.9 million to US$ 118.2 million, with all continents contributing to the increase. In the United States, the company attributed the results to retailers’ inventories returning to normal, consumer demand, and its commercial and marketing initiatives.

Among the brands and releases that performed well globally, Asmodee cited CATAN, CATAN On the Road, Dobble/Spot-It!, and the Bluey edition, as well as dnup, The Lord of the Rings: Fate of the Fellowship, Cozy Stickerville, and expansions for Harmonies and HEAT. Arkham Horror: The Card Game, Star Wars: Legion, and Gamegenic accessories for Magic: The Gathering also stood out.

Driven by higher sales and cost controls, the company posted a quarterly profit of US$ 19.6 million, compared with a loss of US$ 1.8 million a year earlier. Tariff refunds contributed around US$ 1.15 million, with additional amounts expected in the following quarter.
